Wade Eugene Phillips Charged With Murder

At approximately 8:50 a.m. today 911 received a call that shots had been fired, and that a female subject had been struck in the 6000 block of Truax Road in Central Point. Upon arrival, Sheriff's deputies discovered a deceased female victim. The investigation revealed that Wade Eugene Phillips was likely responsible for her death. Deputies began searching for Wade Phillips. The Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) was activated to investigate the case.

At approximately 3:05 p.m. today, homicide suspect Wade Eugene Phillips was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with murder and lodged at the Jackson County Jail.

The victim has been identified as 37 year old Cynthia Michelle Phillips. Mrs. Phillips was the suspect’s wife.

Detectives from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Oregon State Police, the Medford Police Department, the Central Point Police Department and the Ashland Police Department will continue to investigate the case. No further details are available at this time.
