Weekly Update
It has been a long week of interviews for those interested in the Sheriff’s position and yesterday the interviews were completed. Now the Commissioners have to make the decision as to who will be the next Sheriff of Jackson County. We are all hoping by Tuesday, January 17th, 2017, the decision will be made.
This week the weather has been the most pressing issue for your Deputies and Search and Rescue personnel. They have been working hard at assisting folks in the rural areas that have been without power and who have had limited travel capabilities due to fallen trees and downed power lines.
We have to give credit to our roads department who did a great job clearing the roads of snow, fallen trees, and limbs. We also can’t say enough about your Search and Rescue folks who volunteer to make Jackson County a safer place. It was a great team effort by everyone.
It looks for now that we could have a break from the weather through the weekend, which will be nice. So if you venture out this weekend, whether locally or if you travel due to the long weekend, please be safe.
Take Care,
Captain Sickler
