Weekly Update - Sheriff Sickler
For my first weekly update as Sheriff of Jackson County, I would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude. First, I want to say that I am deeply honored and humbled to have been appointed to serve as your Sheriff. I understand the responsibility that has been given to me and I will not take that for granted. I will remain responsive and open to our community and to the men and women of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
I want to thank everyone who participated in the selection process of the Sheriff. I appreciate the careful deliberation by the board of commissioners, and the conscientious efforts of the community panel members. I am thankful for the outpouring of support from citizens and law enforcement personnel who contacted the commissioners by sending emails or making phone calls. Your input was incredibly important in this process. Support from the community and from my colleagues is what motivated me to initially pursue this position. I am incredibly motivated to continue earning your support as I fulfill my duties, now and in the future.
The next six months will be eventful as we prepare to open the basement of the jail, and as we make plans for the influx of thousands of people during the County Crossings Music Festival at the Expo. Through our everyday tasks, we will continue to look for ways to be efficient and effective in our efforts to improve safety, while being mindful of your investment into our community via your tax dollars.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about our office or if there is anything else we might be able to do for you.
Thank you for your support,
Sheriff Nathan Sickler
