A sheriff’s sale is a public auction of property by the sheriff pursuant to a writ of execution to satisfy a judgment. A writ of execution may direct the sale of real or personal (tangible or intangible) property to satisfy a judgment. All bidders are subject to inspection of funds prior to or during the auction. A successful bidder must submit payment in full in U. S. currency and/or cashier’s checks made payable to Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at the conclusion of the sale.
